编者按：百年以来，外国经典剧作数不胜数。这些剧作，或曲或直，或悲或喜，或现实或表现，或象征或荒诞，既是世纪风云的晴雨表，又是人类心灵的显微镜，也是戏剧发展的里程碑。在本世纪即将结束、新世纪即将开始之际，我们特请国内部分外国戏剧专家、戏剧理论家、戏剧评论家、剧作家、导演和演员，各自推举１０部自己认为最好或印象最深的２０世纪外国经典剧作，并简述理由。我们希望这些见解能提供一些新视角、新思考、新坐标，对我国的戏剧创作、研究和发展有所启迪。
Editor’s note: Hundred years, the number of foreign classic drama is endless. These plays, or song or straight, or sad or happy, or reality or performance, or symbol or absurd, is not only a barometer of the century, but also a microscope of the human mind, but also a milestone in the development of the drama. As the end of this century is approaching and the new century is approaching, we invite some foreign domestic theater experts, drama theorists, drama critics, dramatists, directors and performers to recommend 10 best-of-breed or deepest Century foreign classical drama, and briefly explain the reasons. We hope these views can provide some new perspectives, new thinking and new coordinates, and give some inspiration to the dramatic creation, research and development in our country.
