目前,尤其是在学生当中,对马克思主义与文学的关系的兴趣正日益浓厚。英国马克思主义文学批评可以追溯到30年代,那时大批英国知识分子陆续加入英共,他们之中产生了很多杰出的马克思主义文学批评者。他们努力学习、应用斯大林主义所提供的马克思主义基本原理去分析他们所关注的英国文学问题。在这些文学批评者中,国内对威斯特的研究显然是少之又少,而本文旨在对威斯特生平做些介绍并探讨他的马克思主义文学价值观。 At present, the interest in the relationship between Marxism and literature is becoming increasingly strong, especially among students. British Marxist literary criticism dates back to the 1930s, when a large number of British intellectuals joined the British Communist Party one after another, and many outstanding Marxist literary critics emerged among them. They studied hard and applied the Marxist basic principles provided by Stalinism to analyze the English literary issues of concern to them. Among these literary critics, there are obviously few domestic studies of West. However, this article aims to introduce Westman’s life and discuss his Marxist literary values.
