China has set itself the short-term goals of helping impoverished people shake off poverty and building a moderately prosperous society in all respects by 2020.
at the end of 2014， the Chinese government proposed targeted approaches to poverty alleviation. at that time， there were still 70.17 million rural residents living below the country’s poverty line of a net income of rMB 2，800 a year. efforts throughout 2015 reduced that number by 20 million by the end of the year.
In 2020， China will raise its poverty line to that of a per capita net income of rMB 4，000 a year. over the coming four years， the Chinese government will work even harder to meet the needs of impoverished people throughout the country， and apply targeted measures to help them shake off poverty.
