The word “god” used in this paper refers to both “spirit” and “soul.” At that time, those who claimed that “God is immortal,” considered that the spiritual effect is caused by the soul. The soul can be attached to the human body. After the death, the soul is transferred to other places but not eliminated. Fan Zhen's “Theory of Extinguishment of the Extinguisher” fought against this prevailing “superstitious thought of immortality”. The translation of “soul” is not appropriate, and the translation of “spirit” is also different from what we commonly use today. ]
