建筑设计需要创造力，需要有主观立意，但建筑设计经常涉及约束，建筑设计会受到自然和人文环境的约束，怎样才能运用好相关的知识处理好建筑设计约束与创造的关系很重要。有的约束便于把控或者说呈显性,有的须深入思考才能把控,或者说是呈隐性。对约束的分析是创造的起点,创造的结果又形成新的约束。约束与创造是对立统一的矛盾体,约束是创造的动机和前提,创造是约束的目标和归宿。在约束的条框中发展创造，基于约束发挥创造才能更好的完成建筑设计。
