北海道咖啡店的完成前后只有大概45天的时间。咖啡店位于北海道山顶上,只在每年12月至4月雪季这段时间对外开放。咖啡店始建于28年前,当时采用了木结构,此次是对其首次翻新。虽然有诸多制约因素,但项目最终的结果是非常令人满意的,让人印象深刻。所以紧张的项目时间和施工的控制进展都很顺利。但建筑师面临着一个挑战,即项目采用木材、油漆和壁纸三种材料所带来的限制。建筑师采用了垂直木材形成的网格作为主要空间元素,这也是日本特色的一种体现。不同大小及高度不一的屋顶所产生的反射效果,使得游客在内部可以感受到来自日本 Hokkaido coffee shop before and after the completion of only about 45 days.
