The 3rd Asian Winter Games will be held in February 1996 in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. This is another Asian sports event held after China’s Beijing Asian Games. It is also the first comprehensive competition hosted by China for the international ice sports. As readers are not familiar with the Asian Winter Games, this special review as follows, intended to be a good host. In the north of East Asia, there is a long ice period, and winter sports are more popular. Therefore, the idea of founding the Asian Winter Games came into being in the early 1980s. In April 1983, He Zhenliang led a delegation of the Chinese Olympic Committee to visit Japan and discussed with the Japanese Olympic Committee about hosting the Asian Winter Games. In September 1984, held in Seoul, the Third OCA Congress decided in 1986 held in Sapporo, Japan, the first Asian Winter Games, creating a new chapter in the history of the Asian Games.
