笔者采用文献法调查用人单位对非英语专业大学毕业生英语能力需求状况、具体英语技能和学校课程内容设置情况满意度。调查表明,用人单位对毕业生在日常及商务活动中简单的口语交流能力比较满意,阅读和翻译能力有待加强。在此基础上本研究提出高职公共英语教学应改进教学模式、增加课程类别和形式,加强英语学习的实用性来满足社会对毕业生的英语需求。
The author investigates the employer’s demand for English proficiency of non-English majors, the specific English skills and the content of school curriculums by literature review. The survey shows that employers are more satisfied with graduates’ ability of simple oral communication in daily and business activities, and their ability to read and translate needs to be strengthened. On this basis, this study proposes that public English teaching in higher vocational colleges should improve the teaching mode, increase the categories and forms of courses, and strengthen the practicability of English learning to meet the social needs of graduates in English.
