　　 1927年冬，在攻打湖南宜章的战斗中，我党领导的起义军将士在黄沙堡遇到敌人的顽固抵抗。
　　 2. Huangshabao was easy to defend and difficult to attack. A lot of soldiers were killed.
　　 黄沙堡凭借天然屏障，易守难攻，起义军久攻不下，伤亡很大。
　　 3. The Party member Xiao Ke said,“We should dig a tunnel to the foot of the castle and blow up the wall.”
　　 这时，共产党员肖克献计说：“不如挖一条地道通到城堡脚下，用炸药轰开城墙。”
　　 4. The insurrectionary army dug for one day, but were not sure if they had finished it.
　　 起义军按肖克的计谋挖了一天，却弄不清到底挖到位置没有。
　　 5.“We should send a soldier to go to the wall with a rope around his waist at night . Then we’ll know the distance,” Xiao Ke said.
　　 肖克说：“夜里派一名战士在腰上系一根绳子，悄悄爬到城墙下，我们就量出了距离。”
　　 6.After knowing the news, the enemy were worried. The enemy division commander said,“Bury a few jugs and we can hear where they are digging and then...”
　　 知道消息后敌人十分惊慌。敌师长说：“在地下埋上几口水缸，就能听清他们在哪里挖，然后……”
　　 7.Some enemy soldiers jumped into the jugs and listened carefully.
　　 团丁们立即照办，并派人跳进水缸，贴耳谛听。
　　 8.Xiao Ke discovered the plot of the enemy and asked some soldiers to get some gongs and beat continuously.
　　 肖克料到敌人这一手，命人弄来几套锣鼓，让一些战士不停地敲打，使敌人难以分辨地下的挖土声。
　　 9.Thus, the insurrectionary army finished the tunnel and blew up the wall open.
　　 就这样，起义军顺利地挖好了地道，用土硝炸开了黄沙堡的城墙。
　　 10. The insurrectionary army took Huangshabao. And Xiao Ke became a famous general.
　　 起义军夺取了黄沙堡。肖克也因此很快成长为我军一位战功卓著的将领。
