To investigate the relationship between selenium content and selenium intake and other dietary factors in 166 male urbanites aged 55-89 years. Subjects were asked to record their food consumption at 24 days from April to September 1984 (a record of 1-day food consumption per week, representing the amount of each day of the week) between April 1984 and September, and a computer-based project established by the National Institute of Public Health The system converts daily food consumption into nutrient intake. Subjects were asked their selenium supplementation during the initial, mid-term and advanced stages of the study. At the end of the last meal survey 9 to 10 months, subjects were asked toenail,
