In this study, 14 New Zealand rabbits were used for experiments to observe the effect of repeated use of sodium glutamate (MSG) on its cooling effect. The animals were divided into two groups. The rabbits in the experimental group were injected intravenously with medium-dose MSG (0.5g/kg) for three consecutive days once a day, and the body temperature decreased significantly. (P < 0.05 compared with control group). For the fourth time (with an interval of 1 week, MSG was injected in the same dose and manner, there was almost no cooling effect (P>0.05 compared with the control group). The effect of the fifth injection (2 weeks interval) of MSG injection was Four times similarity. The experimental results suggest that after repeated use of MSG, its cooling effect gradually weakened. The author temporarily called the phenomenon of “cooling tolerance”, and discussed the mechanism of cooling effect weakening.
