After the Japanese militarists launched the war of aggression against China, various factions in the Buddhist circles in Japan also dispatched their monks to go to the battlefield of China and engaged in activities such as condolences, excessive degrees, and bones returning to Taiwan to encourage the Japanese invasion of China. Although the Buddhist circles in Japan regard the responsibility of war, especially the question of whether they have witnessed the historical truth of the Nanjing massacre, this article analyzes the diary of the monk’s monk in Japan’s Higashi Hongan-ji Temple and the news report of the Higashi Hongan-ji Temple During the Nanjing Massacre, Japanese military monks not only knew about the Holocaust, but also acted as accomplices to the Nanjing Massacre in a certain sense.
