《点石斋画报》是晚清持续时间最长(1884-1898)、发行最广、影响最大的新闻画报,内容包罗万象,成为表现近代中国历史与社会文化的丰富资料库。2014年是其创刊130周年,上海历史博物馆和上海图书馆分别以各自的馆藏进行展览纪念。在学界,关于“点石斋”的讨论也日益丰富,但无论在基本材料上还是在研究方法上,仍亟待突破。在我看来,出版社按原貌重印《点石斋画报》全本,博物馆影印出版画报原始画稿,学界反思点石斋研究现状、加强视觉性研究等,是非常重要、亟待学界共力深入 “Dian She Zhai Pictorial” is the longest duration of the late Qing Dynasty (1884-1898), the most widely circulated and most influential news portrayal of all-encompassing content and serves as a rich repository of modern Chinese history and social culture. 2014 is the 130th anniversary of its founding.
