新闻述评是由新闻与评论这两种基本体裁相互糅合而产生的一种特殊的新闻评论文体。它兼有新闻报道和新闻评论的各自的长处,新闻性和政论性融为一体,显示出它的新闻宣传中的重要地位和导向功能。近几年来,这一文体日益受到新闻媒体的重视和运用,受到了广大受众的喜爱。其实,新闻述评这一特殊的新闻评论文体,很早就受到了毛泽东同志的高度重视。早在七十四年前的1919年7月间创办并主编《湘江评论》时,他曾设了不少评述国内外时事诸如《东方大事述评》、《西方大事述评》、《湘江大事述评》等述评专栏。后来,特别是在三十年代后期到四十年代末领导抗日战争 The news commentary is produced by the two basic genres of news and commentary as a special style of news commentary.
