巴巴果(Babaco)是番木瓜科的自然杂种,其母本为山番木瓜(C.pubescens,以前为C.candamarcensis),父本为C.stipulata (Badillo, 1971)。 以前曾命名为C.pentagona(Heilborn)和其它名字。
Babaco is a natural hybrid of Papaya families with the female parent C. papucensis (formerly C. candamarcensis) and the male parent C. stipulata (Badillo 1971). The fruits of parents are small, and Baba different. Babacan now named Carica × heilbornii Badillo, indicating that it is an interspecific hybrid. Previously named C.pentagona (Heilborn) and other names. Baba grows in the Andes Mountains, Ecuador at an altitude of 2 ~ 3000m high place, more than the commercial Papaya more cream. This result is deeply loved by local residents. New Zealand, South Africa has now been introduced successfully. In the 1970s, New Zealand spent huge sums of money to buy a large number of cuttings from Ecuador. Exports are now available but most are sold locally.
