In October 2014, the High Court of the United Kingdom ordered five Internet service providers (ISPs) to block websites that promote and sell counterfeit goods. This may be an attempt to stop the trademark infringement. In the meantime, ISPs say the best way to deal with infringing sites is to remove them from the source rather than block them. The Rights Data Integration Project (RDI), which seeks to enable users to discover entitlement information from online content, states that the project’s technology will soon be commercially viable. This article will explore from the case of the protection of trademark rights under the network, shielding the site really as a trademark protection and other ways to protect the trademark under the network environment.
