The Biography of Post-Han Dong Yi refers to the northeastern frontier ethnic groups such as Fuyu, Lou, Gaogouli, Wutuo and Huo with a wealth of data, but also uses a lot of space to describe the culture of these peoples. Among the described cultures, the distinctive geographical features of the northeastern frontier ethnic minorities such as husband Yu, Lou Lou, Gaogou Li, Wo Ju, Kui and so on are manifested. From a historical anthropological point of view, this culturally centered account is actually an ethnographic writing of the northeastern frontier ethnic groups during the Qin and Han dynasties. It is an important basis for our understanding of the national culture in Northeast Asia as a whole today.
