《看不见的人》是美国黑人作家拉尔夫.艾里森一生中唯一一部长篇小说。仅凭这一作品,艾里森就确立了自己在黑人文学乃至整个美国文学中不可动摇的地位。作者艾里森在小说中从一个疲于奔波的美国黑人青年的真实感受出发,揭露了当时美国社会对于黑人的压迫与蔑视已上升为无视其存在,使得处于各种不同地位的黑人们有意识或无意识地丧失了自我以求融入白人社会,而最终陷入“无形”的境遇,小说中的动态和静态描写也渲染深化了这一主题。
Invisible Man is the only novel in the life of the Afro-American author Ralph Ellison. With this work alone, Allison has established himself as an unshakable position in black literature and throughout American literature. In his novels, Ellison starts from the true feeling of a tired Afro-American youth and exposes that at that time American society’s oppression and contempt for blacks have risen to ignore its existence and made black people in various positions consciously or Unconsciously lost self in order to integrate into the white society, but eventually plunged into “intangible ” situation, the dynamic and static description of the novel also rendered deepened the theme.
