近年来,烧烤食品在国际上十分流行。尤其是在北美和西欧,广大居民在野营、划船、钓鱼、海滩聚会以及节假日旅游等户外活动中,几乎都把烧烤作为一个重要的节目。在美国,合家欢庆,朋友团聚也往往要在一起进行烧烤。根据美国烧烤工业协会统计,90年代以来,美国每年烧烤炭的销售额达5亿美元;西欧每年亦在4亿美元左右。无疑,这是一个极具潜力的国际市场。
