GE and Boeing began the ETOPS flight test on the GE90 / Boeing 777 on March 30, during a 4-hour, 17-minute flight, the WAO77 aircraft flew from the Boeing outpost near Seattle to Florida’s Froebeyshebei . The plane was scheduled to stay in Canada for several weeks in order to accumulate E-TOPS cycles in cold weather conditions. The planned schedule calls for the 1,000-cycle pilot to conclude in late July and the FAA 180-minute E-TOPS approval in early August. The initial schedule required the GE90 / Boeing 777 to receive a 180-minute ETOPS when the aircraft was certified. but
