金刚石钻头损坏主要根源是热损伤(金刚石碳化)和磨料磨损(金刚石脱落),而其磨损过程的一般规律都遵循三个阶段:初期磨损段(初磨或磨合段)、均匀磨损段(正常磨损段)和急剧磨损段(非正常损坏段).图1所示为钻头典型磨损曲线.图中AB线段为初期磨损阶段,初期磨损率tg a_1是变化的,逐渐趋于稳定:BC线段为均匀磨损阶段,其磨损率tg a为常数:CD线段为急剧磨损阶段,其磨损率tg a_2比tg a大得多.
