所有用来加速赤泥悬浮固体颗粒沉降的聚合物絮凝剂,都会使赤泥底流场应力增加,从而使其流动性变差。在某一固体颗粒浓度下,场应力会随聚合物添加剂量的增加而增加,但是这也取决于所采用的聚合物种类。对比不同相对分子质量絮凝剂在赤泥中的作用效果,得出结论,当聚合物絮凝剂相对分子质量大于某一最小值时,赤泥的流变学性质不再随相对分子质量增加而发生变化。因此,对于可能产生的最低场应力,絮凝剂相对分子质量越大越好,这样就可以实现在要求的沉降速率范围内使用最低剂量絮凝剂的生产目标。
