以刘兆伦主任为团长的水电部珠委赴美考察团,成员有寥远祺总工程师、麦乔威副总工程师、丁树清工程师和水电部翻译谭艾辛同志一行五人,五月十九日离京赴美,六月二十七日完成任务返京。主要考察了密西西比河及其河口,田纳西河,萨克拉门托河、圣华金河及其三角洲,以及维克斯堡水道试验站。考察期间受到美国陆军工程师团、田纳西河流域管理局、美国内务部垦务局、加州水资源部等部门和所属有关单位,及一些私人工程企业公司的友好接待。
