It is well-known that long-term regular exercise can reduce the prevalence of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases in humans. In view of the many benefits of exercise to humans, researchers have for decades been trying to unravel the molecular mechanisms by which regular exercise enhances body function and reduces disease morbidity. Recent studies have shown that regular exercise can change the multi-tissue cell gene expression patterns of the body, the mechanism may be caused by changes in the promoter region of tissue cells gene promoter methylation. This article will focus on the changes of epigenetic adaptation of human tissue cells to regular exercise and their relationship with changes in human function.
