Shanghai Electronic Tube Factory and the Shanghai Institute of Materials Research Machinery Co., Ltd., in 1976 and 1978, co-developed a Fe-Ni-Mo alloy instead of tube material for the gate electrode of molybdenum wire. The new material is smelted by atmospheric frequency induction furnace. After forging, rolling, annealing and drawing, the mechanical properties and electrical parameters reach the technical requirements of molybdenum wire. It has been used on various types of grids for receiving and amplifying tubes, Nearly one hundred thousand tubes were made and flowed into the whole machine. No significant difference with the original product results. Users in the Northeast reflect their life expectancy longer than the original. The 6J4 tube used in Shanghai meter factory products, the effect is better than the original.
