桂枝龙骨牡蛎汤来源于《金匮要略》。其方剂组成是:桂枝15克、芍药15克、甘草10克、生姜10克、大枣15克、煅龙骨20克、煅牡蛎20克。目前生姜一味时有脱销,用于汗证以干姜为宜,故以生姜易为干姜5克。斯方由桂枝汤化裁演变而来。桂枝汤主治表虚,有调和营卫之功,佐以龙牡有潜阳固脱之效。方中姜桂之辛热,芍药之酸寒,
