The father is the child’s spiritual idol and material life provider. However, in Toni Morrison’s novel, it is very difficult for readers to find the image of father, especially the positive father. Black children with missing fathers often fall into the vicious cycle of “Matthew Effect.” Through his lack of “father”, Morrison’s novel profoundly expresses the author’s desire for a complete and healthy homeland. At the same time, he also sues the black nation for harm from another perspective.
