Black and white cultural conflict is the theme of the majority of black novels. As the only novel of Ellison, “Invisible Man” reveals the general pattern of black-and-white culture and the intricate relationship between the two through the hero’s own “I” experience. The series of characters The experience and the setbacks in his life caused the existence of nothingness. The experience of “I” in New York made “I” find the real existence. This process marked Sartre’s “nothingness - transcendental existence - the real existence” of the mark. The book uses a variety of artistic methods, especially the symbolism, but also contribute to the performance of the theme.
