In teaching a novel, we have become accustomed to using the traditional methods of “reading” and “exchanging” to accomplish teaching tasks. In the plot, the students will sort through “occurrence – development – climax – ending”; the characters and students will also seize on several elements that portray the characters to analyze and even appreciate them; then on this basis, the understanding of the theme will be formed. Actually, novels can not only be read this way, but also in other ways.
