目前国内冶金企业中最大的直流电炉和板坯连铸机于今年10月底在上钢三厂全线热调试后,开始出钢出坯.它标志着我国大型电炉冶炼技术的生产应用开始起步.据称,上钢三厂此项“大电炉、大板坯连铸机”工程共耗资10亿人民币.在此项工程中,从瑞士ABB公司引进2台100t级直流电炉,生产工艺达到国际90年代水平,而大板坯连铸机,是国内自行设计制造的最大断面的连铸机.这两个高水平的生产环节与炉外精练、宽厚板轧机等环节联成了一条中厚板生产线,取代了落后的化铁炉、平炉和模铸生产工艺流程.
