A total of more than 10,000 naval vessels and over 20 million tons of water have been deployed throughout the world. They frequently suffer self-injury and injuries during cruises and exercises. According to a report by the U.S. research institute in 1989, since the end of World War II, 2,300 accidents occurred during peacetime in various countries and a total number of about 2,800 people were killed, of which one-third were related to the United States, followed by the Soviet Union, Britain, Australia, and Argentina Other countries. Most accidents are man-made. Navy accidents pose a major threat to maritime traffic safety. Nuclear pollution caused by nuclear-powered ships and warships carrying nuclear weapons is even more troublesome.
