Egypt’s official Middle East News Agency reported that a Boeing 737 Egyptian passenger plane crashed near the Sharm El-Sheikh waters of Egypt’s Red Sea coastal city on the morning of January 3, killing 148 people on the plane. Most of them were French. Cairo airport officials said the plane was found dead in the area off Sharm el-Sheikh, and the Egyptian government has urgently mobilized its personnel to search and rescue at the scene of the accident. Mechanical failure may be the main reason for the plane crash.
