Preface Since 1962, the International Unit for Radiation Units and Measurement (ICRU) has adopted the usual units - Roentgen, Rem, Rad and Curie - as radioactive measures and definitions. These traditional units have gained widespread international acceptance but are now being replaced. Since 1970, ICRU has recommended the use of an International System of Units (SI). Such as the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in the 24th edition of 1983, on the “dangerous goods provisions ” document, began to radioactive material quoted the International System of Units (SI). Moreover, Section 2.3.1 on page 41 of the 25th Edition, which entered into force on January 1, 1984, stipulates that the non-International System of Units (SI) relating to radiometry shall apply only as of January 1, For this reason, this article gives a brief account of the International System of Units (SI) used in radiographic testing (RT).
