今天很高兴在这里与各位聚首一堂。理工大学在胡应湘主席、校董会同人和潘宗光校长悉心领导下,成功为香港的高等教育肩负重要的使命。理大历史悠久,她前身是培养专业技术及管理人才的理工学院,是中小型企业的摇篮,很多毕业生亦已成为各行各业的骨干,她对香港的成长,实有不可磨灭的贡献。本人能为理工大学的发展尽一分力,是一件非常有意义的事,承大学方面以本人名字为这座宏伟的大楼命名,谨表衷心谢意。 I am very pleased to be here today to gather with you all. Under the careful leadership of President Hu Yingxiang, his school council colleagues and President Pan Zonguang, Polytechnic University has successfully shouldered an important mission for higher education in Hong Kong. PolyU, with its long history, is a former college of science and technology that nurtures professional technical and management personnel. It is the cradle of small and medium enterprises. Many graduates have also become the backbone of all walks of life. She has an indelible contribution to the growth of Hong Kong. It is very meaningful for me to be able to contribute to the development of Polytechnic University. I would like to express my heart-felt thanks to the university for naming this magnificent building in my own name.
