From the investigation of Japanese youth buzzwords in the early 20th century, the authoritativeness or social prestige of buzzwords is the decisive factor that leads to the widespread imitation of a certain word. The objects reflected or characterized by buzzwords are often the hot issues or phenomena of social concern in a certain period of time. The vivid portrayal of the phenomenon, as well as the humorous and entertaining effect caused by the buzzwords, are also some of the reasons why some words have become popular in some period.
