2011年,2000多部微电影在各大网站上线,新浪、搜狐、优酷等都举办了各种微电影活动,微电影热潮悄然兴起。微电影是指专门在各种新媒体平台上播放的、适合在移动状态和短时休闲状态下观看的、具有完整策划和系统制作体系支持的视频短片。在文化产业蓬勃发展的今天,微电影作为新兴的文化载体从默默无闻到日渐规模化,发展成为不可忽视的新文化现象。正如导演陈力所说:

The micro-film boom quietly rose.
