Lithuanians have lived on the Baltic coast since the distant days of aridity. Linguistic information provides a good proof of this. In addition, some of the topographic names and a large number of other historical sources can fully illustrate this point. The relationship between Lithuanians and the Slavs has long been very close. It is at a time when the peoples of Indo-European languages have been separated and independent, Lithuania and Slavs still maintain a common “Baltic-Slavic” community.
