Contemporary British writer Graham Swift’s new work “I hope you here” has obvious spatial characteristics. In the narrative, Swift manipulates the narrative through the displacement of space, so that different fragments can be fused at the spatial structure level, thus breaking the normal flow of linear texts. Apart from promoting the narrative, the different spaces in the novel are closely integrated with the state of the characters and the state of mind, not only as a physical environment but also as a manifestation of the ideological emotions of the characters. Swift focuses on the historical context in the construction of space and links the regional and personal life experience with the macro-global issues to reveal the spatial production of capitalist violence in the process of globalization and the uncertainty of marginalized social groups Drift and loneliness.
