Objective To investigate HIV / AIDS related knowledge and attitudes among medical college students in a military and provide a basis for carrying out AIDS knowledge education in the future. Methods From September 2008 to December 2008, 242 medical students in a military college in Shaanxi Province were surveyed, and the factors influencing the knowledge pass rate of AIDS and related attitudes were analyzed. Results The prevalence rate of HIV / AIDS knowledge among military medical college students was 79.3%. The awareness rate of AIDS among HIV / AIDS students was 97.9% and 96.7% respectively. There were significant differences in the passing rate of HIV / AIDS among students with different attitudes towards HIV / AIDS and HIV / AIDS (all P <0.05). Conclusion The prevalence of HIV / AIDS knowledge among military medical college students is generally high, but their understanding is still not comprehensive enough. Some of the students also have extreme and discriminatory attitudes toward AIDS patients. Therefore, we should step up publicity and education to guide them in establishing the correct concept of AIDS prevention and treatment and their behavior.
