含硼高分子是元素有机高分子化学中的一个新的领域;它的兴起是和尖端科学技术的飞跃发展,基本理论研究的深入、提高,以及国民经济的需要分不开的。尖端科学技术如火箭和原子能需要耐高温和防中子辐射的材料;一般认为含硼高分子应是较为理想的物质。基本理论的研究,如缺电子分子的结构(硼烷结构),催化理论,有机反应历程,价键学说等方面的研究促进了一些有机硼化合物的制备,为合成含硼高分子创造了条件。至于国民经济中各个部门所需要的特种性能的塑料、石油推进剂的附加物、粘合剂、纺织品整理剂、高温涂料、密封剂、液压机油、绝缘油和弹性体等也促进了含硼高分子方面的研究。关于有机硼化合物,拉泼特(Lappert)在1956年曾做了一个很详细的总结。米哈依洛夫在1959年又总结了在1956—1958年间发表的有关有机硼化合物的文献。捷拉尔特(Gerrard)在1961年出版了“硼的有机化学”专书。至于在含硼高分子方面:埃密留斯(Emeléus),安德里亚诺夫布劳思(Braun),科尔沙克,勃
Boron-containing polymer is a new field of organic chemistry of organic compounds.
