西行日喀则日喀则市是后藏最大的城市,也是西藏自治区除拉萨外的第二大城市,它因有班禅喇嘛进行宗教和政治活动的中心——扎什伦布寺而闻名。日喀则距拉萨280公里,全是沥青路,路况相当不错。我们乘坐的两辆丰田越野车一出拉萨,便风驰电掣地奔跑起来。过曲水县不久,汽车忽然驶入一个峡谷。我觉得这很象我们云南的怒江大峡谷:两边是高峻陡峭的山,中间是激流奔涌的江。与怒江峡谷不同的,是山上寸草不生,裸露着砂石嶙峋的面部;是江水更加汹涌,澎湃着更加雄浑的气势。两岸山高,要仰头才能望见一线蓝天,有片片自在的云,正悠悠飘过如镜的晴空。又因为山高,太阳不能直射谷底,光线很暗。刚才在开阔滩地上奔驰的那一派明朗,突然被一种阴霾所代替,我们几个不由得严肃起来。藏族驾驶员达娃罗布看出了我们的情绪变化,他窃笑了一下说:“感觉出这峡谷的神秘和伟大了吧?告诉你们,这就是雅鲁藏布江,这就是世界第一大峡谷!” Xigaze Shigatse is the largest city after hut and the second largest city in the Tibet Autonomous Region excluding Lhasa.
