英语学习中,教师往往鼓励学生直接使用英语思考,认为英语学习依赖于大量英语刺激从而养成一种语言习惯。而第二语言习得和认知主义理论主张外语学习主要在于学生利用母语知识来认知和建构外语的技能,翻译在英语学习中起了重要作用。本文意在弄清翻译和英语学习的关系,探究翻译在英语学习中的作用,特别是将翻译活动视为一种英语学习策略,探讨学生如何使用翻译来增进英语学习的成效。
In English learning, teachers often encourage students to think directly in English. They think English learning relies on a large number of English stimuli to develop a language habit. The second language acquisition and cognitive theory advocates foreign language learning is mainly based on students’ knowledge of native language to recognize and construct foreign language skills, translation plays an important role in English learning. The purpose of this article is to clarify the relationship between translation and English learning and to explore the role of translation in English learning. In particular, we consider translation activities as an English learning strategy and explore how students can use translation to enhance the effectiveness of English learning.
