As a core element of soft power, culture plays an important role in shaping and spreading the national image. Cultural industries have both cultural and economic characteristics. Through the industrialization of cultural products, their diverse forms of expression and multiple modes of communication play a greater role than the government-led cultural diplomacy in shaping and enhancing the country’s image. Both China and Latin America have their own bright cultural and rich resources in the cultural industry. Both sides have the strategic needs of developing cooperation in cultural industries, great market potential and the basis for equal cooperation. To strengthen the cooperation between China and Latin America’s cultural industries is not only necessary but also real possibility. However, due to the fact that both China and Latin America are not very competitive in the world’s cultural industries, combined with the language restrictions and the huge cultural differences, the cooperation between China and Latin America is a long way to go.
