太平天国最高领导层的内讧，埋下了洪、石矛盾的种子。石达开被迫出走安庆，主要责任在洪秀全。当天京局势危急时，石达开没有移师救援，究其原因有二：一是手中兵力不足，二是针对当时的军事形势，他有了更为深谋远虑的挽救天国的战略构想。进军江西、浙江，牵动清军大局，事实证明比直接赴援天京效益更佳。“分裂主义”的罪名无论如何也不能强加于石达开头上。
