In the strong magnetic separation equipment using magnetic induction media, is a major technical reform. In the early 1960s, coarse magnetostrictive media, such as steel balls and toothed plates, were watersheds of older and newer ferromagnetic separators. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, micro-magnetic concentrators (such as fibrous ferromagnetic filaments or steel wool) were the watersheds for multi-gradient magnetic separation and high-gradient magnetic separation.
