根据Halliday(1985a,1985b,1994)的观点,语言系统中有三个表示功能意义的纯理功能,即人际功能、经验功能、语篇功能。人际功能指的是人们用语言与其他人交往,用语言来建立和保持人际关系,用语言来影响别人的行为,同时也用语言来表达对世界的看法。在日常生活中,人们可以用语言与别人交谈,也可以用语言来谈论主观世界和客观世界中的事物、情态、时间以及对世界的认识。语言的这种功能在功能语法中称为“经验功能”。语篇功能指的是人们在使用语言时组织信息的方式,它表明信息与信息之间的关系,以及与人们说话和写作时所处的语境的关系。本文从这三个纯理功能的角度分析附录中所举的化妆品广告例子,以此来说明纯理功能完全适用于语篇分析。
According to Halliday (1985a, 1985b, 1994), there are three purely functional functions in the linguistic system, namely interpersonal function, experiential function, and textual function. Interpersonal function refers to people’s interaction with other people in language, using language to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships, using language to influence other people’s behavior, and also using language to express their opinions on the world. In everyday life, people can talk with others in their own language, and they can talk about things, modality, time in the subjective and objective worlds and their understanding of the world in words. This function of language is called “experiential function” in functional grammar. Textual functions refer to the way people organize information when they use it, and it shows the relationship between information and information and its relation to the context in which people speak and write. This article analyzes the examples of cosmetic advertisements cited in the appendix from the perspective of these three pure functions in order to illustrate that the pure function is fully applicable to discourse analysis.
