ASICs are the third generation of semiconductor integrated circuit products that emerged in the early 1980s. It is generally believed that the standard semiconductor unit circuits such as TTL circuits and operational amplifiers that appeared in the 1960s were the first generation integrated circuits, and the microprocessors and memories in the 1970s were the second generation. As the name suggests, application-specific integrated circuits refer to integrated circuits that are designed to perform the various functions set forth in the design mission book according to the intended use, and are distinguished from general-purpose standard integrated circuits for their specific use.
