Objective To investigate the gender differences in gastric ulcer and its possible mechanism. Methods The rat model of gastric ulcer induced by stress was established by freezing-restraining method. The levels of copper and zinc, the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and the content of reduced glutathione (GSH) were measured. Results After cold stress, the index of gastric ulcer in male rats was significantly higher than that in female rats (P <0.05). Compared with the control group at room temperature, serum zinc level increased and copper level decreased after stress, and the male (P <0.05). The activity of SOD in serum of both sexes significantly decreased (P <0.01), and the decrease of serum SOD activity in male rats was significantly greater than that in female rats Mouse (P <0.01). (P <0.01). CONCLUSIONS: Cold stress promotes the redistribution of copper and zinc in the body. Different sexes have certain effects on the occurrence of gastric ulcer and serum copper level and SOD activity in rats Impact.
