In human history there have been two large-scale women’s movements. For the first time, from about 1815 to 1914, a century ago, Europe and the United States women united for the sake of their equal rights and put forward to the society “that women should also be considered as human beings.” This thriving women’s movement has won property rights and children’s rights for women in Europe and the United States and won women’s suffrage in the United States.
