ITU-TSDH and ANSISONET are standards that are compatible but not consistent with Synchronous Digital Hierarchy when an operating company has to deal with traffic that originates and ends in different countries that adopt different implementations (SDH or SONET), or at some Synchronization of the national network transfer of business, it will bring obvious complexity. This article contemplates the proper architectural design of an international network and SDH / SONET gateway. Analyzes the diversity of traffic and international network and service management. As an example, this article reports an on-site pilot program to be implemented by Sprint Communications in 1994-1995. Relevant information and some of the results from this field trial will be presented at GlobeCom’s conference in 1994.
